Area I: 40 credits (minimum)
required courses

Photography & Imaging I
Photography & Imaging II
Visual Thinking

Sophomore Year:

Photography & Imaging III
Screen-based Projects (optional)

Senior Year:

Senior Directed Projects (Fall)

Additional courses must be taken to bring cumulative points to a minimum of 40.

History and Criticism Classes

Area II: 24 credits (minimum)
required courses

Freshman Year:

Culture, History, Imaging & Photography Studies

Sophomore Year:

The Social History of Photography
The Aesthetic History of Photography

Junior Year:

1 Critical Studies

Junior/Senior Year:

1 Advanced History Seminar

Liberal Arts Classes

Area III: 44 credits (minimum)
required courses

Freshman Year:

Two-course Expository Writing Sequence: Art and the World / The World through through Art

Soph/Jr/Sr Years:

Language and Literature: 4-8 points
1 Literature or 2 semesters of the same language
Humanities: 4 points
History of Western Art II in the Fine Arts Dept. A second Art History course is highly recommended.
Social Science: 4 points
1 course (i.e. Anthropology, Economics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology.)
Natural Sciences/Mathematics: 4 points
1 course (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Compuer Science.)

Additional Liberal Arts from any of the above to bring cumulative points to a minimum of 44.

Electives

Area IV: Credits to bring cumulative total to 128 points.
