Section 001 #71395 Fallon Monday 2 - 5 35 W 4th, 2nd floorThis course will explore the basic tools of digital imaging and the related network resources available on campus. The class will explore QuarkXpress and Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation and Adobe Illustrator for design and layout purposes. Students will learn to scan flat artwork as well as slides and negatives and capture images from video. Various output devices from laser and ink jet printers to film recorders will be covered, allowing for a maximum of media surfaces and printing techniques. Students work on several small assignments to introduce the hardware/software issues, but will have the opportunity to complete a small project of their own for the end of the term. This course is not intended to completely cover the software packages listed, but give students a fundamental understanding of the possibilities of the digital realm.
