Photography II for non-majors

H82.1002   Studio   4 Credits

Prerequisite: Photography I or equivalent or permission of the department.

This course expands upon the principles and tools of Photography I to develop one’s own vision. An informal survey of different photographic techniques and aesthetics is explored through the use of slides so students can begin to “find their voice” as an artist/photographer. Students are expected to work on extended projects to develop an aesthetic and coherent photographic language. An emphasis is also placed on students refining their craft in relation to their ideas. Classes include weekly critiques of student work. Some basic materials are provided. Each student must have a camera with manually adjustable aperture and shutter speeds.
