Biography

B.F.A., N.Y.U., Tisch School of the Arts (1996), M.F.A., Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College (2004). Mara Bodis-Wollner is on the Faculty of N.Y.U., Tisch School of the Arts Department of Photography and Imaging and ICP, The International Center of Photography. She received a Fulbright scholarship in 1999 to Hungary to work on a body of Photographic work, The Visual Vestiges of Socialism.  She has been invited to speak as a guest lecture for professors at NYU, The New School and Pratt Institute.  In 2007 she was invited to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and received a Wallace Reader’s Digest Endowment Fellowship.  She received an N.Y.U.,Tisch  School of the Arts adjunct Faculty Grant in 2007 and her recent video work was shown at Janos Gat Gallery.  In 2008, she was nominated for the KLM Paul Huff Award from the Foam Museum in Amsterdam, she served on the jury for the Bronx Council of the Arts Brio awards and she will attend Review Santa Fe.

She is currently represented by Jen Bekman Gallery and has appeared in various solo and group exhibitions. Her solo show in 2005, the All Girl’s School, was reviewed by numerous publications.
