Biography
Diane Bertolo’s new media projects have been shown internationally in museums, galleries and new media festivals. Selected venues include: La 2000 Biennale de Montreal at the Centre International d’Art Contemporain de Montreal, Web Project 8 at The Total Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, South Korea; Telematic Connection: the Virtual Embrace at The Walker Art Center; The San Francisco Art Institute and other venues; Blur of the Otherworldly: Art, Technology and the Paranormal at Center for Art and Visual Culture, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC); Paradise in Search of a Future at CEPA Gallery and TechnoGrrrrls at The Pacific Film Archives. Diane’s work has been in several festivals, including: The LA Freewaves Festival at MOCA in Los Angeles, and the Mostra de Video Independent in Barcelona, Spain. Two net.art projects, “channelUntitled” and “FT2K” were commissioned by Turbulence. Her work has been supported by several fellowships and awards, among them: New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) in Emerging Forms in 1995/1996 and for Computer Art in 2001-2002; and from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the Greenwall Foundation and the Jerome Foundation for net.art projects on Turbulence.
